In partnership with The Pontifical Mission Societies, the Diocese of Allentown implements the annual Missionary Cooperation Plan of the U.S. Catholic Church so that mission congregations, lay organizations, and mission diocesesfrom around the world can bring news of their work and also appeal for prayer and financial support from U.S. Catholics. Started in the late 1930’s, the Missionary Cooperation Plan is a special opportunity for parishioners to connect with missionary efforts that serve communities and share the Gospel around the world. Please extend a warm welcome to the missionaries who share their faith stories in your parish.

Application Instructions

To be considered for the 2027 MCP, you must have a representative in the United States with whom we can communicate, as well as an email address, as this is our primary means of communicating with you.

 To apply for the 2027 Missionary Cooperative Program:

1. Read the Missionary Cooperative Program Regulations (see button below).
2. Fill out the Application For the MCP (see button below).
3. Sign, then mail or email to our office the completed application with:
   1. A Letter of Authority/Support from the local Ordinary, Religious Superior, or Head of Mission Organization granting you permission to apply for the MCP.
   2. If you are listed in the U.S. Official Catholic Directory (Kenedy), please attach a copy of the page with your listing. For lay organizations and religious communities established in a foreign diocese, please attach a photocopy of the page in which it is listed in the home country’s Bishops Conference or official Catholic Directory.
   3. Optional: Your organization’s brochure or a brief overview about your organization.
4. Please submit all materials by December 1, 2026 to:

Additional Information:

Appeal funds are disbursed payable to the diocese/mission organization, never to an individual person. If your diocese/mission organization does not have a bank in the US that will be the repository for the MCP funds, please do not apply to the MCP.

Our list is finalized by February 15. You will only hear from us if your organization is selected.
